Wedding limerick
Well we're back from our honeymoon. 14 days of complete relaxation, doing nothing other than reading, drinking, eating and the bad thing ;) We got back a few days ago, and had to go back to work and all that boring stuff. Our pressies from John Lewis have arrived, and we've got the official wedding snaps now. Thanks again to everyone for coming. We've also got this special limerick from Lynn, penned on the way home from the wedding ...
There was a wedding party called Moor Who used the Internet to explore They found this fine site And to their delight One Moor became wedded to Law The bride, from a family near Reading Came all this way to the wedding One family was Law The other was Moor And she left under a new heading There came a fine family from Kent Who brought caravan rather than tent Filled with puddings galore Though we ate more and more With even Carl’s help we made barely a dent From Seattle came Missy and Rob They socialised with the whole mob In no time at all They knew one and all As helpers they did a great job From Nottingham hailed James and wife Jill Their wee Jonathan gave all a thrill He slept through loud noise From both music and boys And even when Matt said ‘I will’ From Northampton came Ed, Pip and Mick Plus Hugh who arrived nice and quick We all loved the cake Which star Mick did bake With slices so yummy and thick Pat and Dick from Northants nearby As Matt’s godparents they wanted to try To check on his girl At the barn dance whirl They gave approval with a loud cry From Bracknell came Hugh, alias Gramps Who was considered one of the champs He bought us pub beer Was always of good cheer ‘Cept when wakened by outdoor lamps To the wedding from Auckland came Lynn Her fascinating personality to spin That the wedding went well She regarded as swell Her next wish is the All Blacks to win Jill assembled a great wedding book At which we all had a look The hen night book too Done by Helen so true With saucy pictures that some people took Came family and friends, all the lot To help Beccy and Matt tie the knot We all played a part In the decorative art To be ready for 3 on the dot Later on came the butcher and baker Everyone but the candlestick maker The pig was well roasted A few guests well toasted And the band was a really good shaker The ex-Nottingham friends all joined in With much laughter and many a grin They helped make the day And joined Sunday’s play Which many tried hard then to win But as Best Man, James had a plan His speech made us laugh till tears ran He did everything right Until late Sunday night And that’s when the shit hit the fan The boys went to the Jockey for beer Emerging, no taxi was near They phoned newlyweds And got Matt out of bed Of Beccy they now should steer clear! Now this is the end of the rhyme Because we’ve well run out of time The guests have gone home You’re now on your own Until the next wedding bells chime

Baby Theobald
Yesterday we made a visit up to Nottingham to see the latest member of the Nottingham crew, baby Jonathan Julian Theobald ! James & Jill are now the proud parents of one bouncing baby boy, who is very cute. All three are doing well. You can see a few pics here. We had a meal with them, and then came back home.
B has also taken some more pics of the flooding around South Abingdon, which you can see here. It has not affected us, apart from some travel disruption. The quantity of water is amazing, and the pictures don't show just how quickly the water is flowing past.
We haven't been up to much else. I have been moving office last week, and B worked nights. It is now 6 weeks until we get married, and we're off to Norfolk next weekend to meet the registrar.

Floods
We've just been down to the river in Abingdon to have a look at the flooding here. The river has burst its banks, and it is roaring through the weir. Although it's nowhere near as bad as in some areas, there are a few houses in trouble and South Abingdon has been hit badly. There are some pics to look at here
Not much else has been happening. We went round to a friends place yesterday for a braai (South African for bbq) and had a great time. I spent most of it dancing in the garden. Wedding plans are moving along, and soon we're off to Norfolk again to finalise arrangements, meet the photographer and so on.

Assorted photos and things
As usual, we've been so busy I haven't got round to posting anything for ages. Since the last post we've been to Ireland, I've been to Munich, we've seen Brad & Hannah from NZ and B has been to Wimbledon.
Ireland was great. Brian, Ali, Erin and Patrick had come over from a few weeks from oz so we flew over to say hi. It was the first time we'd seen Patrick. Erin has changed from being a small baby to a little girl since we'd last seen them. We had a good time, plenty of food and drink, and saw a bit of the Irish countryside. We even had a go at air rifle shooting in Ali's brothers back garden in South Armagh. It turns out that B is a sharpshooter, so I will have to be careful from now on.
Munich on the other hand didn't go so well. I was over for work, and looking forward to sampling a few steins of the local brew. Unfortunately I caught a particularly nasty cold on the flight over will laid waste to me for the duration of the trip. I managed to get into the office, but not much more than that. It did seem like a nice city from the taxi though, so another trip is definitely in order at some point.
Last weekend we went down to Sue & Johns for sunday dinner as Brad & Hannah were visiting on their way round the world. Hannah is Sue's cousin, and we met them in Hamilton back in NZ in January. It was good to see them again, Hannah taught us a fast paced card game that had Sue in hysterics, much to the amusement of the rest of us.
This weekend Jill & James are visiting for the weekend. We are hoping to go out kite flying but it doesn't look too promising right now. We may have to divert to the coffee shop instead.
I have just uploaded a selection of photos from the past 6 months, including the last NZ photos, Seattle, our trip to Ireland, some shots of the wedding venue in Norfolk and Wimbledon. Check them out.

Homemade curry
We had homemade curry last night. Perhaps not all that impressive but we also made the naan bread and sag aloo ourselves too, and it was delicious. All washed down with a couple of pints of local ale.
We've been busy for the last few weeks on various wedding duties. We went to London a couple of weeks ago and I purchased my suit for the wedding with the help of JC. We went in nearly every store selling suits on Regent and Oxford St before laying out the readies. Last weekend B and I went into Oxford to browse the jewellery stores for a wedding ring. Amazingly we found something we both really liked in the first store we entered and made our decision! Quite a bit easier than I had expected ;)
Next weekend we are off to Ireland for a couple of days to catch up With Brian and Ali who we haven't seen for a long time, which will be nice. Immediately after that I'm off to Munich for 3 days with work, my first bona fide business trip. It will be interesting but I am a bit nervous due to the fact I can't speak a word of their language. Everyone assures me that this will not be a problem though.
This weekend will be a lazy one though, lazing around the house and taking it easy.
