We have a campervan !

Well we arrived in NZ two days ago and took up residence at our friend Lynns place. We have spent 2 days looking at vans here in Auckland, and bought one this morning for a princely sum :) It's a Mitsubishi Delicia, a small people carrier type vehicle with the rear seats removed and a double mattress in it, and a bunch of camping gear shoved in the back. The campervan market is quite a gamble at this time of year at vehicles are snapped up the moment they go on the market so you don't have too much time to think about the purchase. Thankfully what little mechanical experience I have gained from the troopy has come in useful in poking around so hopefully we have a vehicle that will go the distance and keep us dry. In memory of the troopy, known as the Beast, the van is named Beauty. And she is a beauty !

We plan to have a look around Auckland tomorrow and pick up one or two more bits for the van and then we head south on thursday. Pics will follow soon ...
